My lone steps
Tread on the path so dark,
Through the murk;
The silence wails
As I walk;
Wrapped in bruises
The colour of the night,
No hand to hold,
No light to guide.
Suddenly I see a silver beam;
Its embrace, so warm,
So true,
So mine;
It shines upon
My soul, so lone.
I bathe
In its incandescent love;
So pure,
So real,
Ethereal;
It seems
Like eternity,
As we dance
To the rhythm,
Of love,
Of mirth,
Of life;
And then;
A gust of wind
Wild,
Fierce;
Its toxic breath
Kills the silver light,
Douses the flames
Of love;
I wake up from my dream
Into my darkness;
My darkness
So real,
So mine.
