When silence stretches, expansive
like a desert between two people
No oasis of tender words, comforting
Beautiful memories lay parched, and
pasts lay wrinkled under the fiery sun
Footprints long buried under the dunes
Hope is only a mirage, infinitesimal
The blistering spines, piercing, cutting
Eyes, failing to absorb the sorrows
The merciless strangle of the unruly vines
When hugeness is only a windowless wall
Shadows are strangers, who never meet
Scorching days melt into icy nights, lifelessly
Prayers are reflected by cloudless skies, unheard
It’s time to walk away from the desert……to let go
And search for a shade to rest.....
