This is my story, of awe, not surprise
I was in hell; men thought paradise.
Decked up, would stand on the roads, to take
That men would come, and profess love, so fake;
An hour of fun for money, they’d pay
Bag full of lies, that they would say;
They moved on and so did the day
Clients would come and go, and we were kept at bay;
They waited for the lights to dim
Darkness would descend on our bodies, that it seem…
I remained Muskhan, the smile amongst the fright
Queen bee of the area, they called RED LIGHT.
They sold me young for a lot of money,
Was kept to grow with nuts and honey;
Couldn’t really fathom, heaven or hell,
Moved around the place, they called brothel;
Taught me the art to walk voluptuous
And acts of moves to instigate lust..
Was decked up in jewels of bangles and ring
Told me, was precursor to love-making.
Saw girls getting frightened at night
Was named Muskhan, the smile amongst the fright,
Grew up to the Queen bee, out in their sight
Started ruling the area, they called REDLIGHT.
But blossomed love, in me, too
With a handsome client, eyes dark blue;
Divinity felt, while making of love
A heavenly instance, in this sinful hub
Handsome one, I called him Sunil
He was much more than just a hefty deal;
Spoke for hours at day and night
Felt him in solitude, through black and white,
The end of the tunnel, showed some hope
Leaving this world, it was time to elope,
Sisters around, advised to be slow, not fast
But I was flying the wind in its gust
The D-day arrived, as planned, I ran
I was stabbed on the belly, by my man;
I died Muskhan, the smile amongst the fright
Still hover the area, they call REDLIGHT.
I am still bewildered, relieved of my bodily pain
What did I get, did I lose or gain?
My sisters, who really loved me, was lost in vain
For a man, I felt, was for me, insane.
I gained the sight of the embedded heart,
Which gave me signals to avoid any hurt.
I am now the guardian, in a veil
Call me spirit, ghost, or an angel.
I take care of victims, of love and bigotry
In my own way, I help my sisters to be free.
But listen one and listen all
Says the queen, be it erstwhile
The purest feeling that I did feel
Love is a potion that all can heal
So, rise in love, wrong or right;
I remain Muskhan, the Love amongst the fright
Queen bee of the area, they call REDLIGHT.
