The current Rio Olympics, in the last few days, has given the nation a reason to celebrate. The girls, especially Sakshi Malik and P V Sindhu, have proved that nothing is impossible. It takes one, the right training and attitude to compete and win even against the best. Disciplines like Badminton, Wrestling and Shooting have given immense laurels to the country in the last few Olympics. Rio is over. Now the Sports ministry should concentrate on the next Olympics to be held in Tokyo. Best players in specific disciplines need to be given the best training. The chosen players need to be given the chance to participate in maximum international competitions. They should be provided with all the latest equipments so that the paucity of resources does not dampen their spirits. It is only when they are provided with ample resources, supplemented by good coaching and international exposure, that they will be able to bring laurels for the country. The other players who could not perform in the Rio Olympics also need to be given a morale boost. The sports ministry should listen to them and try to eradicate hurdles which they sometimes have to face. Only when the authorities know the problems that the players face, will they be able to pave way for better players and nurture them to compete at the world stage.
