MY VALENTINE GIFT
I never got the chance to tell you
That how much I cared for you
How much I loved you, how much you moved me
The way you fascinated me, the way you changed me…
You were always there around me, yet not for me…
But for someone else’s eye, you were there for him
It was obvious from the way you heard his rhymes
And the way you noticed him smile.
You were so in love with him
I could see that
But he was not someone you should have believed
I wish I could have told you that
And then one day he actually proposed you
You were so happy I could not dare to say those things to you
Thought being in love with you would change him
But I should have known the love that changed me never affected him
I was so wrong about everything, about him
Being in a relationship so pure, never changed him
Valentine’s Day was near
I was more concerned for you than love in the air
You were celebrating every moment those days
Being with a guy whom you loved was a special moment, anyways
That night I tried to tell you about him
You believed nothing, and your last words were still lingering
you said you hated me and considered it all a fallacy
what my heart knew as concern for you, you took it as jealousy
I lost my most desired friend that night
But whatever I told you about him wasn’t it right?
He started ignoring you, you remained upset…
And then you finally came to knew that he loved your best friend
Maybe you cried that whole night, lonely, broken and so distressed
But had I become so unknown that you didn’t try to share your pain?
Next night, when I went up to your place, your room was dimly lit
You were in one corner, crying, and I said “he does not deserve to live”.
You sensed my presence, got up and hugged me so tight
There were still some wet pearls left and I wiped them off your eyes
It felt so divine having you in my arms that Valentine night
And all my feelings that you had hurt to them you apologized…
Well you gave me the most beautiful gift one can ask in life
You returned me my friend and love that meant me my whole life.
