I am the beginning of all beginnings. Every moment is an investment for me. I invest in you. I invest in order to see how far you go. I invest to see what you do with what you have. In short – I like to be fair, just like my opponent. For now, you are on my side! The fact that you are reading my words proves it.

Hold on. Here is someone I need to save. His name is Dev. He thinks he cannot bear it anymore. He is up there – on the cliff about to fail me. He doesn’t like the imbalances and intricacies of uncertainty. The electricity plays for me, letting him take the stairs to the thirteenth floor. The images of the past created through me flash in his mind, trying to keep him occupied. Yet, he keeps moving. The fact that he hasn’t made it to the top in his exams triggered this situation.

Fifth floor and he is still moving. He is a concern to me because his term hasn’t ended yet. He is assigned to me. But, his thoughts are making him head him towards my opponent – who is proud of his pivotal characteristic of certainty.

He has now reached the thirteenth floor. Humans, they are more than just a hope and sometimes, even worse than despair. They surprise me with their versatility and annoy me with their lack of patience. The chirping of birds stalls his plan for some time. He wants to die in peace. His cheeks are wet and his legs are trembling.

How does it feel? Can you feel the air around you? Does your tongue long for a sweet dish or something spicy to munch? Do you feel lively?

The image of kaju katli in his mind earned me a few minutes. Next, I let him peek at the moments of absolute happiness – his seventeenth birthday. The surprise cake by his father, the beautiful letter by his crush, the three books he received as gifts.

He steps back a little to think about his books. There is a book that he is yet to read. After a few seconds, his wavering thoughts project the images of his journal.

Yet again, Dev is ready to jump. It seems like the best time for the last shot.

I catch hold of Dev’s higher self and initiate a battle.

‘Unfair. This life is unfair. I try and that is more than what many people do!’

Now, I let his higher self speak: Being blindfolded doesn’t make you blind.  All you have to do is remove the blindfold and look!

Delusion is a drug. At first, it is weird. After some time, you begin to make your delusions – a new reality.

Dev peeks a bit from the thirteenth floor. The view scares him and the sight increases my advantage.

‘I do not want to live. Now, I do not want to die. What a hopeless mess am I in?’ Dev screams

‘Sometimes, you just have to breathe.’

‘I do not have a reason to live anymore.’

‘Are you alive?’

‘Yes, I am.’

‘That is a clue in itself. You have a purpose. Make friends with time and it will open doors!

You are breathing. You are here. You are living. What more? Go on, your mission hasn’t ended.’

The trick pays off and thus I manage to pull him back to my side. Well, I don’t always pull. I let things be. It all depends on you.

A chaos is capable of wonders! I fight the dichotomy of the moment to save you. Death is an absolute certainty. I, on the other hand, flow in the rivers of uncertainty. I’m an engaging act. I am the action.

Now, my dear readers, it is time to wrap up. I am the reason to hold on to me and that is enough.

Yours always,
LIFE
