April 2012. The phone rang in the office hours. Roshni looked at her phone, received the call and walked towards the corridor. The same old conversation again! Roshni told her Mom, “Ma, this is the last time I am telling you, I do not want to get married now. I am not interested in meeting any guy.”

Present day, 2015. “Ma, I had no idea Gaurav can be so irritating and annoying. He is driving me crazy. Never in a year’s marriage has he kept his clothes properly and still throws the wet towel on the bed. Only God and I know how I landed up and married this guy!”

Same day, April 2012. “Alright, I will call Gaurav and ask if he is ready to meet me. But if it doesn’t work out, don’t ever ask me to meet any other new guy.” Roshni dialled Gaurav’s number while walking back home. They both decided to meet the coming Thursday after office hours at a nearby mall.
Roshni confirmed with Gaurav about the time and the place and went to the washroom for a quick touch up. While Gaurav was already on his way, Roshni took an auto to reach on time. It was already 07:20 pm and they were supposed to meet at around 7 pm. Gaurav was supposed to be there by then. His number was also not getting connected. So, he ditched her on the very first meeting?
She kept trying his number and started walking out of the mall, when someone just held her hand. “Gaurav! Are you?” A reply came, “Yes, I am Gaurav. You must be Roshni!”
“Yes. Thank God you came. I was about to leave. Come, let’s sit somewhere.”
“Sure.”
What followed was a fascinating conversation and the two hit it off completely. Roshni called her Mom to confirm her meeting with Gaurav and that she really liked him, but was welcomed with a totally unexpected piece of information. Gaurav never came to meet her. His father informed Roshni’s mother that Gaurav had gone to some other mall by the same name at some other location!
“So, who was this guy I met and talked to for so long? Oh! This is so confusing.”
She noticed an unknown number calling her. “Hello! Who’s this?”
“The same Gaurav whom you met a few hours back.”
“How did you get my number? And you are not the Gaurav Mehta I was supposed to meet.”
“As for your number, I just noted down at the counter. And also noticed that you are not Roshni Malwani.”
“Hmm.”
“I am just happy that you are another Roshni because Roshni Malwani already asked me to reject her.”

Present day, 2015. “Aren’t you happy that you met me, Mr. Gaurav Kumar?”
“Yes, Mrs. Roshni Gaurav Kumar. And I am indeed grateful to Gaurav Mehta that he missed meeting you that evening and also to the real estate people for building malls by the same name at multiple location.”
