O! Buddha - You who are,

As gentle as rose petals

As delightful as the moonlight

As happy as the spring

As juicy as a fruit

As hopeful as a bud

As calm as a flowing river

As pure as rain

As bright as the sun

As agile as water

As intense as the color of the new leaves

As magnanimous as the sea

As bold as the wind

As fearless as the fire

As unmovable as the Himalayas

As courageous as the sprout

As determined as the root

As sturdy as the trunk of a tree

As generous as the Earth

As wondrous as the Galaxy

As right as the Dharma

O! Revered one, how can I ever be you?

It is a folly unfathomable – I could never be you!

Buddha says “I am none of these”

“I am only as ordinary as you”

“I am only a mirror”

“For you to reflect what you make of Thee”
