His body lies entangled
On the corner of the street
Once a bystander
Now a victim of a crime
Cars pass by
But the people inside don’t seem to care
The bystanders just stand there
As blood trickles out of him
He thinks he’s reaching the end
And he wonders
What did he do wrong?
He is just a kid
Like you and I
He is just a human being
Like you and I
Tell me
If it was you lying on the street
Covered in blood instead
Would it be fate
Of refusal
You’d choose
From the mist of darkness and helplessness
There comes out a man
Who helps him
Because he once also needed to hold someone else’s hand
Like this man
There’s an angel in all of us
So don’t just stand there
Do something
Try to save him
Be an angel
