Somehow
Somehow
Even after a few million blizzards, we
Did what everyone deemed
As the impossible
Impossible?
We never believed it to be impossible
We had, according to them, cheated death
And it was coming back
It was coming back just for us
The snow still fell down
On our heads
The fires still burned in hell
And maybe that was the reason
We kept going on
Despite, every big and little hurdle
That came in our way
We kept going on
We still remember the day
We heard the Fates say
“Beware!
Beware!
Nothing is what it seems
To be!
Nothing can save you now!”
Standing in the dark caravan
With snakes on the moist land
We shivered
Despite our coat of pride
Our ancestors have fallen
On the cold stones
We now walk on
The art of shadows
And the breath
Of the dead
Echo in our heads
The blood of the lost souls
Who never got to play their roles
Line the street
Leading to eternity
We drank the elixir
Oh, the elixir
Of love, life and death
Going door to door
Begging people not to give up on us yet
We remember the day
We slayed
The monster
That ruled over us
But it wasn’t just us
The whole village defeated the traitor
Breaking away from powerful hallucinations of lust
Together as one
We threw spears
And readied the cannons
Hoping for once, the underdogs
Would win the war
As the day turned into the night
We could see the light
And it led us to victory
As the archers released bow after bows of arrows
The empire fell down
And we celebrated
Because for once, we
Were truly free
And it took all of us to defeat
The common enemy.
