I wake up to a splendid, morning,
Cock a doodle doo...
To find the 'Alexa' alarm blaring!
With a smile on my face,
Geared up to deliver my promise,
I begin my morning race.
Kisses and cuddles and affectionate taps,
Not a stir, they don't hear.
My darlings dream on under the wraps.
It's Monday! not Saturday or Sunday,
School, breakfast, Bus and bath...
These swirling thoughts come my way.
No screaming, yelling or freaking out
Remember to stay composed ,cool and calm.
That's what being Mom is all about.
My angels are in deep slumber still,
It's time! Wake UP, WAKE UP! I say,
And wish I posessed a magic pill.
Not the time to ruminate again,
It's been just ten minutes into the day!
Are all my vows going to be in vain?
I play a song or two,
Hakuna Matata and the sort,
Awake or no I have no clue.
Then slowly they stir and lie awake,
I now feel this will be a perfect day!
Fingers crossed, pancakes I make.
The clock is ticking, I'll peek and see,
Aghast at the sight, still sleeping tight!
Vows, Promises and pledges, flee.
Bringing out the Monster within ME!
Is this how a 'MOM' ought to be?
