“Mamma, say OK, Bye,” three-year-old Suhani said querulously to Radhika. That was her daughter’s imperious way of asking her to get off the phone, and of course, pay full attention to her! “Just a minute, baby, one sec,” said a slightly harried Radhika. Then she continued quickly into the phone to her mother, “OK, Mom, bye for now! So I’ll drop off Suhani at your place tomorrow! Yes, Ok, bye, yes, bye, I’ll call again, yes, yes, OK, OK Mom!” She hung up on her mother, who was still talking. Still, she wouldn’t mind, Radhika told herself. She would understand....
