Past the lone cemetery that could have been mine

In fractured moments, memories haunt us

Anchors have changed, so has the daffodils we grew

You wouldn’t wait for me, so neither did I

We created smiles, without desire

With time, discarded it for want of desire

I kissed death, so you could die in my arms

Marvelled at the beauty of the moment

In short whispers, I sang you a lullaby

I see the calm sea, never your steps

I scream out to you, you cannot hear

The voices merged at the horizon

The sky’s still grey, with or without you

It is boundless, like we wished to be
