As I lay on the pipes that night
My mood tranquil,
Serene but ruffled, calm yet not composed,
I saw what I had seen for years.
The velvet blanket with its vivid velvetness
That spread over unfathomable distances
The rich velvetness so distant
Yet so comfortingly near.
The tiny distant diamonds
Sewn across the velvetness
Velvet and diamonds cast in a dazzling brilliance.
Interwoven together forever.
I felt swathed in it,
Blanketed comfortingly in the vivid velvetness.
The tender tickling breeze
Whispered sweet nothings in my ears
And eased my thoughts.
As I felt myself move through the passage,
The passage that led me through a tunnel of velvet and diamonds,
I felt myself shine and dazzle like velvet and diamonds.
