Synopsis

When Kabir Bose was wheeled into operation theatre, and Mahua, his wife was praying to god for his recovery, little did she know there was more problem in the coming? Kabir`s heart wasn`t working; so he received a heart transplant.  The heart was donated by a young man, Aakash Rajawat who was brain dead following a fatal head injury. His family decided to donate his organs. But Kabir recognised the perils soon; he felt he owed his life to Aakash`s family, particularly his young widow Payal. Obsessed with his responsibility towards Payal, who had walked out of her in-law`s house and was living with her old parents, he stalks the women, woos her and finally marries her. But a decade later he kills himself in the same way Aakash did – shooting him on the head.

This is a tale of unknown, hardly explained by the known medical facts why the patients who received heart transplant feel that after the transplant they had acquired many aspects of the donor`s character. The conventional teaching that heart is just a mechanical pump and transfers no abstract memory cannot explain this. We are yet to know if there is some suicidal gene which could get transplanted along with the heart, or it is the soul with its inherent tendency of suicide which now ruled over the recipient`s mind. This story confronts the conventional wisdom of medical science and puts you at the crossroad of reality and mystery, which leads one to ask – can we transplant soul?
