My words throb, pound inside me.
I keep them at bay, push them away.
They frown and threaten, with fist and claw.
I spread my arms they seduce, embrace.
My words tumble, unleash in a flurry.
I shudder, I quiver
In the joy of a squirrel,
obscure presence of an owl.
My words promised
To take me to the land of delight
The boy in me looked to clasp the arrow
that follows the sound.
My words promised to stay,
give away.
Vowed to let go all
that is mine own.
