Life is short, live it in this moment
Do not look for tomorrow or beyond,
For promises and newer beginnings.
Open your palms and let it all go
Give your wings a fuel to the skies to soar.
There may be many morrows and many promises
But there is none like what you have just now.
Live it this instant and live it right now
Do not let anyone say, “No, not now!”
Life is short, let others remain spectators
While you act out your desires and live all your dreams
Do not tarry till too long
And do not let anyone say that you should not
As by the morrow the dreams may shrivel up into regrets.
Many ships will pass by in the night
And stop to say why you should not
Or tell you to focus and become perfect
At one task that they stipulate while they sail away.
Life is short; there is no time to be lost
No petty indifferences as big as they may seem
Nor slights concocted in an idle brain
Should hamper the flight that you are on
Stop a minute and say, “I am for better things!”
Smile at them, be kind and benevolent
For you do not know what battles they fight.
But stop right there and do not get dragged in
For you have your life to live my friend!
Life is short; don’t let any chain fetter you,
Nor any bondage weigh you down
For the chains will rust
And the bondages will transform
But you, my dear, will remain as you are.
It is alright to live a life that others do not understand.
It is, after all, yours to live!
If they put words of duty and society
Or mountains of ego on your path
Smile at them and step aside
For they never seem to have understood what they want,
Nor lived a minute for what they believed.
Life is short my friend
Live it like there is no tomorrow
Act out your desires and live all your dreams
And if there is a tomorrow, you can find more dreams to fulfill.
