A scream echoes
Through that terrible night
Loud in tone
Fierce with anguish.
A babe so young
So naïve to villainy
Faces demonic horrors
But comprehends them not.
Prince Charming and knights
In fairytales abound
Reality has no such gallantry
But yours.
Brave woman, shattered to your very core
You needn’t face these terrors anymore
Arise you will despite them all
No monster shall ever again
Put you down.
Cold winters end, and summers do come
A ray of hope can dispel,
The emptiness of your soul
For at the end of every dark night
A new dawn shall surely arrive….
