Sunlight peeps through the clouds, illuminating all the trees and houses.
It is possible for everyone to begin their day with their preferred drink in hand, contemplating the pure rays of the sun. It all starts at 5 a.m. for me, Namrita Shah, but even two minutes late will get me scolded by my in-laws. Being a girl, I have to deal with a lot of hardships. No, I'm not saying that boys don't face the same challenges as girls, but my community holds girls back from chasing their dreams. All our wings are tied together in the event that “what if the girl gets spoilt living outside or meeting new people”. Although girls are now flourishing in many locations, there are places where they are barred from leaving their villages, like the one I live in.
Following the rules, I was told to follow by my community. I turned from a small child into a woman and got married at the age of 19. The community might view me as a very good girl. Following people's advice, I lost myself in the way of my life. Rather than Raj's mother, I have no personality. I wanted to do something, but this community made me forget who I am. Sometimes I wonder if this is the same for all girls. Nobody has the answer to this, but surely if this thought keeps going, all the young girls there, thinking of their future will be devastated. Why are the women who work in their kitchens every day for everyone without complaints can’t be professional chefs? Why are most professional chefs boys? Why wouldn't it be nice if boys and girls could be treated as equals? Maybe all these thoughts will be with me forever but I want my son to treat every girl the same way he treats boys. Everybody is a human being. No matter what their gender is, everyone on this planet has feelings. Every child should start telling their mothers to form a personality for them, rather than just being at home and taking care of it. So lets all start and work at our own ends with our best efforts to turn this planet into a better place for women also. Everybody does listen to the interviews and gives a look at the articles but just doesn't want to do anything about it. This is my try to give women their rights. Maybe, soon everybody will see it as an issue and try to find a solution for this.
