The Haveli Series - Combo Pack
The Haveli Series by Harshali Singh.
BOOK 1: A WINDOW TO HER DREAMS
Are two good people with good intentions enough to make a good marriage?
Aruna, a young divorcee, marries Bhuvan, an averagely successful young man. Both make promises of ever after with preconceived expectations—hers, freedom from a judgmental society and validation of herself and his, unconditional love and partnership.
Despite their best intentions, life plays rogue.
On the one hand, Aruna’s learned conditioning, developed as a result of her past, keeps coming in the way of their married normalcy and on the other, Bhuvan cannot fathom the signs of her distress.
Their good intentions are tried at every step until the day when Aruna’s past revisits her. Bhuvan’s silences, Aruna’s distrust and the resurrection of her troublesome past lead to a downward spiral in their life that shakes Aruna to the core.
As she stands on the precipice of a second failed marriage, Aruna tries one last time to take control of her life, something she had willingly surrendered last time.
Does she succeed in saving her marriage? Or is she held back by her own apprehensions, choosing to stay victim?
BOOK 2: THE ANATOMY OF CHOICE
Is choice really a possibility for women?
Bhavya, the second daughter of the Sharma family, has made her life in Paris with Tenzin, her live-in partner. As the flame of their love starts to dwindle, they act on a fantasy only to realise that they are ill-equipped to handle the consequences of their choices.
Bhavya returns to her Haveli in Delhi unwilling to bend to Tenzin’s demand of letting the past remain where it belongs…in the past. As she navigates the intimate, familial and societal realms trying to find herself, her family supports her silently despite having their own misgivings on her return.
In the course of finding a solution to her turmoil, she discovers the journal of a 16th century courtesan Noorie, who struggled with her own destiny. As Bhavya delves deeper into Noorie’s world, she finds her own indecision juxtaposing with the angst of a woman born much before her time. She is forced to examine and finds parallels in the unconventional love and relationships that stretches across centuries and own up to the decisions that affect her life.
BOOK 3: A PARADOX OF DREAMS
Dreams are mystical wonderlands that can be traumatic and yet shine a light on the hidden depths of our consciousness.
Charu, the blind third daughter of the Sharma family, uses her psychic abilities to find victims as part of an SIT headed by Ravi, her lover. Back into the fold of the Haveli, Charu wakes up from a horrific dream to answer a phone call from an old friend, Prithvi Chauhan, the suave Minister of State. He asks Charu to help him locate his kidnapped younger daughter Myra, for old times’ sake.
Like a Matryoshka doll, Charu and Ravi uncover the nefarious intentions behind the polished lives of the Chauhans even as Charu battles with dreams that claw at her psyche and memories.
