Classic Tales from Panchatantra
About the Book
The Panchatantra is an ancient compilation of five books, consisting of simple stories mainly revolving around animal fables and tales of magic. It is believed that the author, Vishnu Sharma, was faced with the challenge of educating three illiterate princes. He composed these highly entertaining stories, ending each with a nugget of wisdom, in an attempt to teach the princes how to think, instead of what to think.
These stories have been told and retold over the ages, and they gain relevance every time they are told, if only for the sound good sense and the moral lessons that they impart.
